Early booking is recommended for our ever-popular celebration Festival finale! We are delighted to welcome back the Brandenburg Sinfonia under the baton of their Artistic Director Bob Porter.
As well as their renowned work in the UK, the Brandenburg Sinfonia is also in great demand abroad. The varied range of concerts performed by the orchestra includes a concert series at St Martin-in-the- Fields and a Classical Music cruise on the QE2. One of their recent highlights was an International Opera Gala conducted by Richard Bonynge in the presence of HRH Prince Charles.
A large number of artists of international standing have worked with the orchestra including Richard Bonynge, Yvonne Kenny, Emmanuel Hurwitz, Lesley Garrett, John Georgiadis, John Wallace, Emma Kirkby, James Bowman and Gordon Hunt, performing repertoire as diverse as Bach to Lloyd Webber. The Brandenburg Sinfonia perform at the Thaxted Festival as the resident orcheastra.
*A note from the Artistic Director, Bob Porter
The Humming Chorus will be performed by an ad hoc flashmob-style choir formed from the audience. Please volunteer and join in. To register your interest email the Brandenburg Artistic
Director, Bob Porter on bob@brandenburg.org.uk. You will then be sent the printed music and a sound file to prepare in advance. We will rehearse during the interval (with glass in hand!) and open the second half.
